Sigma Art 24-70 mm f / 2.8 DG DN is a new lens designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras with Sony E and L-Mount mount. We know how much it will cost and when it will go to the stores.

The Art Sigma series is known for its very high quality optics. That is why many are waiting for the manufacturer's lenses. Finally we have a universal lens designed for the very popular Sony E mount . The glass will also be available for the Leica L-Mount mount .

24 mm in wide angle and 70 mm in close-up are very universal values. Add to this the constant light f / 2.8 and we get a lens that actually replaces several others. We had to wait a long time for such glass for Sony E. Not so long ago, Tamron showed its offer – its 28-75 mm f / 2.8 is currently one of the most-bought lenses. You didn't have to wait too long for Sigma's response. The optical construction of the new glass consists of 6 FLD elements (made of glass with fluorite-like characteristics) and 2 elements made of SLD glass. Thanks to the skillful use of an additional 3 aspherical lenses, the lens effectively eliminates all types of chromatic aberrations and coma that are difficult to correct at the post-processing stage.

In addition to the existing Super Multi-layer Coating coatings, the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN lens also uses completely new Nano Porous Coating coatings , making the lens even more resistant to blistering and flares when shooting under the sun. The minimum focusing distance is only 18cm (at 24mm), which gives us a reproduction scale of 1: 2.9. The housing is sealed and the front lens is covered with a hydrophobic layer, thanks to which this lens can be used even in the most difficult weather conditions.

The new lens will appear in Poland in December. The first delivery is scheduled for December 16. The price suggested by the manufacturer is 4990 PLN gross , which is almost a thousand PLN less than for the reflex version of this lens. Although this model is 1700 PLN more expensive than Tamron, there will certainly be a group of people willing to buy it, because for the quality of the Art series the price seems quite attractive.
