Sony E 16-55 mm F2.8 G and Sony E 70-350 mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS are two lenses that will enrich the E system, which includes mirrorless cameras with an APS-C matrix, whose number is constantly increasing.
The Sony E mount system will be enriched with two new lenses. One of them is a telephoto lens with a very wide range – Sony E 70-350 mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS . The second is a universal zoom with constant light and stabilization – Sony E 70-350 mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS .
Universal Sony E zoom
Sony E 16–55 mm F2.8 G (24–82.5 mm in 35mm format) with a fixed maximum aperture of F2.8 has excellent G Lens, image quality and overall properties. Two AA (advanced aspherical) lenses and two aspherical lenses compensating for aberration in order to ensure high resolution of the whole frame. In turn, three ED glass lenses (with very low dispersion) minimize chromatic aberration and color spread. A 9- bladed circular aperture and carefully controlled chromatic aberration ensure a beautiful "bokeh" effect. The Linear Response MF system is to ensure accurate and convenient focusing in manual mode. The tube has been sealed and the fluorine-containing front lens coating protects against dirt and fingerprints.
Advanced super telephoto lens
Thanks to the optimized optical and mechanical design, the new Sony E 70-350 mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS super telephoto zoom lens provides outstanding image quality across the entire frame and full focal range of G Lens: 70 to 350 mm (105-525 mm) converted to 35 mm format).Good optical properties go hand-in-hand with the convenience of using a lightweight, compact design that provides 5x zoom. The model has three ED glass lenses for effective compensation of chromatic aberration and color blur throughout the frame, and an aspherical lens that compensates for optical aberration and provides exceptional resolution even in the corners of the image. The model has a focus lock button located on the tube, as well as an AF / MF focus mode switch for quick selection of automatic or manual adjustment in changing working conditions. In addition, the glass also has a zoom lock switch that prevents the tube from sliding out under its own weight when wearing the lens, etc. The whole construction has also been sealed.
Prices and availability
The Sony E 16-55 mm F2.8 G lens will go on sale in September, while the Sony E 70-350 mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS will be available in October. According to unconfirmed sources, the first lens will cost around 1,200 pounds, or almost 5,800 PLN, and the second will cost 830 pounds (about 4,000 PLN) , becoming a slightly more budgetary proposal. Despite this, I think many users are still waiting for more budgetary solutions, especially from third parties. Not so long ago the Tamron 24-70 mm f / 2.8 premiered for the full frame Sony. It would be ideal if its equivalent for APS-C appeared on the market with similar parameters and at a slightly lower price. For now, there are more and more objects for Sony E, but it is still difficult to find budget proposals.
