Panasonic LUMIX S PRO 24‒70 mm F2.8 is a new zoom lens designed for the L-mount system. The full Lumix frame finally gains universal glass.
There is one lens that can actually replace – for less demanding users – all others. This is usually the focal length range of 24-70 mm or 28-75 mm. Virtually every kit lens gives just such a range. Therefore, the premiere of the Panasonic LUMIX S PRO 24‒70 mm F2.8 lens is not surprising. It's a glass with universal focal range and constant light.
Universal zoom for the Panasonic L-Mount system
Panasonic LUMIX S PRO 24‒70 mm F2.8 offers a very universal focal range and constant light with quite high brightness, which makes it a very interesting model. In the lens system consisting of 18 elements in 16 groups there are three aspherical lenses and four ED (very low dispersion) lenses, which effectively eliminate axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration when enlarged. Thanks to the bifocal system with linear and stepper motors, the matrix drive can support up to 480 frames per second. The use of a sharpening mechanism clutch guarantees immediate switching between autofocus and manual focusing as well as high precision of the latter operation. The lens design has been strengthened and sealed against dust and splashes, and the lens can work even in 10-degree frosts without any problems. The aperture is equipped with 11 blades , which will ensure a nice blur.
