The Visa pour l'image festival held in French Perpignan (August 31 – September 15) is one of the most creative events devoted to reportage photography. Exhibitions, lectures and workshops conducted by renowned photographers from the world's best photo agencies are mixed here with the inspiring ideas of aspiring photographers who have the opportunity to watch their masters.
3 days in the photographic world
Only until May 10 this year. students with photographic interests can apply for participation in the Canon student program at the international festival Visa pour l'image. For the top 10 students from Poland, Canon has prepared a special festival package including participation in 3-day workshops and networking meetings, flights, accommodation and meals . The workshops will include, among others, portfolio review of participants under the watchful eye of photographers from the largest photo agencies and Canon ambassadors. "Canon Poland definitely believes in young talents!" – admits Małgorzata Działa from Pink Water Creative, who as a laureate of the Canon program participated in the Festival in 2017. "Less than 2 years ago I checked the training program myself. I had the opportunity to collide my portfolio with one of the best, believe in yourself and be inspired by the wonderful bohemia of Perpignan, so if you still have the status of a student, apply! Photo editors and photographers Magnum Photos, World Press Photo or NOOR are waiting for you – do not hesitate! "
How to apply for the competition
To take part in the Canon student program, go to page and send a maximum of two portfolios on it (on different topics); each portfolio should consist of a maximum of 20 photos. This should be accompanied by a description and summary of the project, as well as a short candidate biography and cover letter, as well as the opinion and recommendation of the teacher-tutor from the university , which will also confirm the candidate's status as a student. As part of the elimination, 10 students from Poland will be selected. Persons aged 18 to 27 may apply to the program. Student workshops will be conducted in English , therefore applicants should have knowledge of this language on a communicative level. Submissions can be sent via the contest page by May 10 this year. So there is little time left.
