Winners of all categories of the SWPA open competition and the National Awards competition have been announced. Among them there was a Pole.

Sony World Photography Awards 2019 is one of the largest photo contests in the world. It is also the most "universal" competition, due to the diversity of categories. Four competitions are organized within SWPA: professional (series of photos), open (single photo), student (for university) and youth (for people aged from 12 to 19). Today, the names of winners of the open competition were announced. Within its frames, awards are granted in the National Awards category – for the best photographers from each country. This year the best photo from Poland was taken by photographer Piotr Leczkowski.

Leczkowski is a professional graphic designer, and photography began to deal with amateurhood already in adulthood. He lives in Żyrardów. He made the winning photo behind the scenes during the Polish National Ballet's rehearsal. – It took me a long time to find my own way – says Piotr Leczkowski about his work. – It was about my personal way of showing the beauty of this world. Now I am ready to speak in a mature, serious voice. I also hope that this voice is charming, but it has to be assessed by everyone. The winning photo was chosen anonymously by the juror Tomasz Tomaszewski, the ambassador of Sony Poland. As the winner of the Poland National Award, Leczkowski will receive the latest digital Sony camera equipment and fly to London for the gala of Sony World Photography Awards, which will take place on April 17 . The winning photo will be presented at the Sony World Photography Awards in London from April 18 to May 6; will also be published in the book of the 2019 edition.
