Sony World Photography Awards 2019 is one of the most prestigious photo contests. Five Poles qualified for the final of this year's edition.
World Photography Organization announced the list of finalists of open and youth competitions of the Sony World Photography Awards 2019. Among the authors of the best individual photos from last year, there were five Poles. Their success is worth noting due to the record number of entries: 326 997 works from 195 countries came for this year's competition .

The finalists of the open competition were promoted by magnificent works from ten categories, including five Poles who submitted their photos in four categories: In the category "Portrait" Olga Urbanek qualified for the finale – the author of a beautiful portrait of her friend and roommate Anna who lives in Iceland.Marlena Kurowska-Jankowiak and Piotr Cyganik became the finalists in the "Movement" category. Photo by Cyganika The Police Day was created during the celebration of the Polish Police Day and presents the horse in motion. Artist Patryk Kuleta is the author of the work Gneisenau , qualified for the final in the category "Creativity". Combining digital collages with abstract painting, Culeta presents the Imperial Shipyard in its hometown of Gdansk in a modern way. The finalist of the Culture category Tomek Kozłowski captured the climate of the Naadam festival: one of the most important national events and national holidays in Mongolia. The highlighted photo shows a young jockey, his father and a coach. All five will now compete with other talented photo authors from around the world for first places in their categories. The winner of the entire competition is the title of Photographer of the year in an open competition, the latest Sony camera equipment, a trip to London for the awards ceremony and $ 5,000. The final photos of Poles will be at the Sony World Photography Awards 2019 at Somerset House in London, and will then be part of a mobile exhibition presented around the world. They will also be published in the album summarizing the competition's edition. The announcement of all winners of the "Photographic Oscars" will take place on April 17.
