The Chinese Yongnuo YN450 mirrorless camera has a chance to become a competition for big producers and a camera that will be chosen by amateurs with a limited budget. We know what the specification of the model will be.
Chinese manufacturer of photographic equipment creates a no-nettle. Yongnuo is a brand known mainly for counterfeit photographic accessories and lenses. The producer started flash lamps and lenses that perfectly imitated the original products of Canon, but at the same time they were definitely cheaper. Today, the manufacturer creates accessories that are cheap replacement for almost all brands of cameras. Now, however, Yongnuo goes a step further and creates his own mirrorless Yongnuo YN450 . This name, however, is a working one, the target ones can be suggested by internet users in a contest organized by the producer, which will be resolved in January.
Yongnuo YN450 – specification
The camera's concept is quite non-standard. Well, we will get a miniature camera with replaceable optics, which will work based on the Android system . There are hardly any buttons on the case, except for the shutter and the switch (at least it looks like it looks after the pictures). The camera will be operated so it will be a touch, and its handling will be so easy that everyone who has to deal with an Android smartphone will find it in the menu. That is probably nine out of ten people. The camera project is being developed all the time, but we have just received information about the model's specifications. How will the model look like? The heart of Yongnuo YN450 is to be a Micro Four Thirds CMOS sensor from Panasonic. The camera is designed to support Canon EF lenses. Here the question arises – will it also handle the Micro 4/3 mount lenses? Because it should be taken into account that the Canon EF lenses will have a larger crop for this camera, because the Canon APS-C sensor gives crop 1.6x, and the Micro 4/3 matrix – 2x. So, wait for the manufacturer to explain exactly how it will work and with which lenses the camera will work. It may be that, for example, Panasonika lenses will be assumed, but the camera will not support autofocus. That's why we have to wait for more details for now. The fact is, however, that the Micro 4/3 matrix will give much better results than the 1 / 2.3 inch matrices mounted in smartphones. The camera will be fitted with an 8-core Qualcomm processor , so we can count on some newer Snapdragon model, which will be supported by 3 GB of RAM. The processor will have to deal with recording the RAW peaks as well as the 4K movie mode. As we learn, the camera will be able to shoot 4K movies at 30 frames per second . In turn, the resolution of photos will be 16 Mpix and 8 Mpix in the front camera. Because instead of a tilting screen, helpful in selfie, we get just the front camera, just like in smartphones. The device will also have wireless communication modules, 3G / 4G, WiFi, as well as a GPS module. The camera also has a built-in flash – unfortunately, LED, not xenon. There was also a stereo microphone, but there is no place for a hot foot on the casing. An interesting fact is that the camera will have 32 GB of built-in memory , which can be extended by inserting the card. We do not know, however, whether the standard SD or micro SD. The camera also has a 4000 mAh battery and the whole work under the control of Android 7.1.
Yongnuo YN450 – when in stores, price
As you can see in the above description, the specification suggests that the Yongnuo YN450 is more like a smartphone, to which a large matrix was mounted with the possibility of attaching various lenses. This is at least suggested by the specification, because the model pictures clearly show that it is a camera that differs from the competition in that the housing is dominated by a large 5-inch touch screen that replaces the buttons. But I must admit that the whole promises to be really intriguing. The camera offers basic functions and capabilities that are sufficient for the amateur. In addition, it works on the basis of Android, and it gives a large field to the creators of various applications – this will certainly give users a lot of interesting features. In addition, bezłusterkowce will give us what is lacking in smartphones, and therefore the ability to use bright lenses and real, not systemic bokeh. In turn, the Canon EF system, which the camera will operate, is full of cheap and interesting glasses, moreover, among them we find just cheap replacements from Yongnuo. So there is a lot to choose from and you do not have to spend too much.Yongnuo YN450 looks like a really interesting proposition for amateurs who want to get a bit better photos than those from a smartphone. The mirrorless Chinese will provide it while offering miniature body dimensions as well as simple operation based on the Android system known to everyone. As for me – it can really work. Of course, the price will be the key factor here. Currently, the cheapest mirrorless microchip with the Micro 4/3 matrix, the Panasonic Lumix GX800, we will buy for just over PLN 1600 together with the kit lens. Of course, the purchase of more glasses will be much more expensive, however, Panasonic is a shaped brand, and Yongnuo will be a no-name for many. Although such a no-name was just recently Xiaomi Chinese brand, which produces smartphones. Today, the producer has followers faithful to him like an Apple brand. Who knows if in a few years many amateur photographers will not think that "Yongnuo Better". That is why the price will play the biggest role here. I believe that it should not exceed 2 thousand. but really, looking at the price of the Lumix GX800, the Yongnuo model should cost below PLN 1500 to become a really attractive proposition. And just as such a budget model for amateurs, the camera can be a success. For now, however, we have to wait a bit. More details about the camera will be announced in January, and the model's premiere will take place in 2019 , or, in the case of delays, at the beginning of 2020.
