Samyang introduces the first wide-angle lens for Canon, which will be equipped with an autofocus system. What will the new model offer to users?
The most important functions:
- Focal length: 14 mm (for full frame)
- Mounting system: Canon EF
- Brightness: f / 2.8
- Construction: 15 lenses in 10 groups
Users of Canon cameras gain another interesting lens. Samyang AF 14 mm f / 2.8 EF is a model with standard parameters that we know well. However, the manufacturer's older lens differs in that it has been equipped with autofocus, and thus becomes fully usable for photographers. The first Samyang lens with autofocus with EF mount is to ensure high quality. The internal structure consists of 15 lenses arranged in 10 groups, 7 of which are special optical elements. The use of 2 aspherical lenses, 4 high refractive index lenses and 1 ultra-low dispersion lens minimizes distortion and aberration. The angle of view of the lens is, in turn, 116.6 degrees. Samyang wide angle lenses are very popular, but it is the first model in which the autofocus motor was mounted. Previously, the manufacturer provided the lens in versions for other mounts, now it was the turn of the Canon. Between MF / AF we can switch via the lens switch.
Price and availability
The lens will go on sale in February this year. The price of the lens will not be the lowest – it's PLN 3499 . However, taking into account its capabilities, it is not excessive. Remember that the original system glass producers can be even twice as expensive.
