Sony has introduced a new superzoom camera – Sony RX10 IV. What is the Japanese concern for us? When will new equipment be available?
Fast-pulsating AF system, 24-shot continuous shooting and a versatile zoom lens – Sony is advertising the new RX10 IV. Next to the Sony RX0, this is the second RX camera to show the Japanese. What time do they propose?
New AF system and super fast fire rate
Sony hardware advertises as the fastest AF system in the world – 0.03 seconds . This is a really impressive result! Only one, but extremely important "but": such speed will only reach the wide angle, programmed auto focus, AF-A focus mode and wide AF area. This is a significant limitation – with normal focus the camera will focus for longer. But there is nothing to say. The manufacturer has offered us such a great AF- Fast Hybrid AF system that combines 315 phase detection fields covering 65% of the contrast detection matrix. This includes full support for tracking systems and shooting at 24 frames per second and times of the order of 1/32000 s, which means that the camera is equipped with an electronic shutter. The manufacturer adds that there is also a mechanical shutter.
Bright ultrazoom from Zeissa
The new Sony camera is equipped with a Zeiss lens , which is already a standard in the RX series. This fact alone should suggest that the optics will be good. Let's take a look at its construction and parameters:The new lens, thanks to the one -inch 20.1 mpx resolution , offers 24-600mm focal lengths with F2.4-F4 . This gives us a focal 600mm F4 – such focal length, with such clarity in vain to seek in reasonable money. The new glass was also equipped with very low dispersion lenses and aspherical lenses, which prevent chromatic aberrations.
4K, Bluetooth and other water tones
As for, be it, amateur equipment, RX10 IV offers really a lot. As with the RX0, we can shoot 4K 30p movies, while the FullHD resolution is up to 120 frames / sec! There is also ultra slow motion in 960 frames, the film can last up to 4 or 7 seconds, depending on whether we choose the quality mode or recording length. In addition to the 4K, the camera offers Bluetooth, WiFi and NFC connectivity. It is worth mentioning electronic viewfinder Tru-Finder OLED with a resolution of 2.35 million pixels and touch, tilting LCD display 3 "and a resolution of 1.44 million pixels. It is worth noting also waterproof, although it is not one hundred percent guaranteed immunity.
When and for whom?
The new camera is expected to be available in October . The price in the press release was not given, abroad can see the amount of $ 1700. At this point, there is also a question about the purpose of the camera. The lens seems to be really good, the camera shoots faster than the rifle, but is it enough for the pros, as Sony claims? I'm not convinced. It is difficult to judge until we see the samples, and best of all – until we have the camera on the test. For professional applications, the biggest doubts are the size of the matrix and its response to high ISO. On the other hand the price will scare effectively amateurs. At this point, our predecessor, Sony RX10 III, will pay us 6 thousand zlotys . Nevertheless, ISO1600 is not at all such a low ISO at F4 (though it depends on the conditions). However, I am convinced that the camera will find its buyers, especially amateurs of nature and aviation photography .
