Yongnuo YN686EX-RT is a reporter lamp for Canon powered by lithium-ion battery. Does that make sense?
The Chinese producer of Yongnuo has already made some interesting offers. In June, we informed about 7 lamps for professionals at affordable prices, and now the company introduces a new reporter tube for Canon – Yongnuo 686EX-RT powered by lithium-ion battery. The lamp supports E-TTL measurement, has a guide number of 60 and built-in receiver and 2.4 GHz transmitter, and also supports HSS mode. The most interesting is the 2000 mAh battery – it allows 750 flashes at full power and faster charging compared to traditional AA batteries (it only takes 1.5 seconds to charge to full power!). In addition, the lamp is equipped with an electronic display with battery level information and electronic torch zoom in the range of 20-200 mm.There is no doubt that the lithium-ion battery is better than the traditional AA batteries. Does this make sense? Batteries can be replaced in emergency situations with ordinary AA batteries, which in turn will replace only the second identical. I think the rarer flashes are better than the no flashes, but this solution will probably find its supporters. The lamp costs about $ 150 and is available on eBay and Amazon .
