Panasonic Lumix camera GH5 is a revolutionary and long-awaited. Shooting in 4K at 60 fps, the function 6K Photo, 5-axis stabilization. These are just some of the many advantages of the new model. Here are the specifications and key features.

Has become. After two years we lived to the successor of the iconic model GH4. Panasonic Lumix GH5 is a continuation of the dream, because we deal with a real revolution. And not just in relation to its predecessor, but in general the market. The new model will Panasonikowi on an equal battle with Sony, though in many respects GH5 beats the competition in the form of Sony. Let's start with the fact that this camera is intended mainly for filming, so the description I will focus mainly on issues related to the possibilities of film.

Specification:

  • Matrix: Micro 4/3 20 megapixels (without low-pass filter)
  • Display: 3.2-inch, 1620K
  • Burst mode: 12 fps (60 fps 8 megapixels)
  • Movie Mode: 4K 60 frames / .s, Full HD 180 fps
  • Connectivity: WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, USB 3.1
  • Stabilization: 5-axis matrix

The changes in the new model include almost anything. Let's start with the matrix. This not only gained a higher resolution (20.3 megapixels with respect to 16 megapixels), but also was deprived of the low-pass filter, and thus, we can get a higher quality and greater detail. The construction of the matrix suggests, therefore, that a picture of a higher quality. Let us hope that this will translate well to better results at higher ISO speeds – its scope remains unchanged – 200-25600. At the first examples of images that the producer presented during the conference, you can see that the image quality significantly jumped strongly upwards. Photos have greater detail and sharpness across the entire frame than its predecessor, also significantly increased their tonal range, and the camera better cope well with normal mapping balance. Improvements also covered the screen and the viewfinder. The first remained large (3.2-inch) touch screen and while the resolution has increased to 1,620 million points, which will give us an excellent preview of the image. Resolution digital viewfinder also jumped up and is as high as 3,680 million points, and the larger it 0,76x. GH4 already enjoyed a high quality image preview, so GH5 will fall out from this point perfectly.

Faster autofocus, burst mode and work

And how to present your camera? The manufacturer has put on even faster autofocus. According to the assurances of the new technology "Advanced DFD" make the camera sharpens the image in less than 0.05 seconds. If you provide a check, it will have to deal with one of the fastest AF system on the market, which will be fully useful even during filming. In burst shooting mode, the camera will record images at a speed of 9 fps continuous autofocus. In contrast, in one fell swoop we will be able to save up to 100 images in RAW format (previously only 40).

function, which is always the Panasonic praises the 4K Photo. Also, it has been improved to form 6K Photo. Thanks to it we can register 30 images per second, and their resolution will amount to up to 18 megapixels. The traditional function of 4K Photo will allow us to register while as many as 60 frames per second, and the resolution of a single karu will amount to 8 megapixels. The camera can not run the system 5-axis stabilization matrix. This system will work with the stabilization in the lens, and this result will give us a very stable image even at the longest focal length.

4K films from all over the matrix and with a huge bitrate

4K is standard today. But 4K at 60 fps is still a rarity. Especially, when the image is taken from the entire matrix. The main change in the movie mode is just that in 4K will not have to deal with the crop, and 60 fps gives a very high potential. But it is not everything. Along with updating the firmware provided Holiday gain the ability to shoot with a bitrate of 200 Mbps at 60 fps up to 400 Mbps at 30 fps. Of course, this will necessitate the recording material directly to an external hard disk. You can see, however, that Sony sets the bar extremely high and in many areas it is hard to beat.

Manufacturer adds a very good mode slow motion. The Full HD filming we will be able at a speed of 180 frames per second, and this is almost two times more than the predecessor offered. In the new model there will also be special flat color profiles, including V-LogL. We are including the ability to get the personal setting the color curves, so as to achieve the most desirable effects by us.

Two memory card, Bluetooth 4.2, the latest standard WiFi

Panasonic has not forgotten about facilities also important from the point of view of recording and camera connectivity with other devices. The main change is the addition of a second entrance memory cards. Needless to explain to anyone what is important and useful. The camera is also equipped with the latest standards in wireless connectivity – Bluetooth 4.2 and 802.11ac (5GHz). There were connect to a microphone XLR format (with an adapter) and USB input is the latest 3.1. YouTube Preview Image Magnesium housing the camera is not only sealed but also immune to the cold. The manufacturer declares that the camera can be used with confidence even in 10-degree cold. Panasonic Lumix GH5 sale is expected to come in March and will cost approx. 2 thousand. dollars. Looking at the specification, it can be expected that the model will dominate the market and will certainly reach for him, many professionals, and we'll just wait until we are able to test it.
