I doubted, and yet have believed. As a great skeptic, I must admit that I was convinced: really good smartphone can replace a compact camera.
Some time ago I gave the 7 reasons why your smartphone does not replace the camera. However, since then I have had the opportunity to test cameras in several top smartphones and gave me a chance to redefine your view. No, I do not think that for the same money you can buy as a good camera and smartphone. It is also possible that the smartphone will give us everything that camera. But the fact is that in the case of compact cameras with mid-range, or let's say less than a thousand gold, hard to find models, which in terms of image quality and the opportunities offered, will be significantly better than smartphones. So my conclusion is: expensive smartphone will replace the cheap compact camera. It will never be that smartphones threaten cameras with interchangeable lens, precisely because of the lack of exchangeable optics, and the fact that placing the smartphone matrix size of 1.5 inches, for example, it seems in at the moment and not the next few years do not change.previously believed, however, that even the cheaper compact will always fared better than the smartphone at least due to the larger matrix, or even better optics lens. However, the latest top smartphones contradict that belief. Because first, manufacturers often include in their matrix size of 1 / 2.3 inch, that is, as a cheaper compacts and, second – the quality of the matrix is often better than with cameras. This is for example the case of the latest Sony Compact XA. Innovative matrix developed by Sony is divided into three layers, one of which is responsible for the proper white balance, the other for fast autofocus, and the third is to minimize noise in the pictures. Effect? We get photos not only high resolution, but also quality. The colors are beautifully saturated, the temperature light properly adjusted, and image detail makes quite an impression. If we compare this with the compact camera for a few hundred dollars, the latter is the underdog. It has a darker lens, worse matrix, and above all – gives a much less opportunity, because it's hard to find a compact for a few hundred dollars, which, for example, would allow for full manual setting different values - that is, something that is standard in smartphones. Thus, in terms of quality, photo made good smartphone are not inferior to those made cheaper compact camera, the same with movies. Add to that a powerful stabilizing matrix, which often offer smartphones, and compact rare. And let's not forget about the effects – filters is one thing, but the hit are still allowing applications to create virtual reality, so that we can find our pictures, for example strolling dinosaurs. So, yes, as a fan of photography honestly admit: in certain conditions smartphones can replace compact cameras, and these conditions will be more and more, because only a matter of time when the smartphone will be supplied lens with digital zoom (iPhone already something like features), or instead of LED lights – xenon. A hard nut to crack to turn manufacture CDs – because what persuade customers to buy them?
