We advise what lens you should buy if you're a fan macro and want to achieve the best results.
Recently we recommended a lens for Nikon cameras, as well as cheap glass for amateurs. Today we focus on a particular field. Macro photography. You already know what to look for looking for a lens for the macro. Now let's have specific models for macro available on the Polish market. And although specialized optics is not the cheapest, as usual, we tried to find proposals from different price levels.
Tamron AF 18-200 mm f / 3,5-6,3 XR DIII LD Aspherical IF Macro
Available mounts: Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony A / Minolta, Pentax K have already mentioned that the lens for macro you have to pay quite a lot, but I managed to find an inexpensive lens, which will be capable of macro photography. Maximum aperture f / 3,5-6,3 what true average value, but after all the harder stopped down the aperture, the greater the surface of the frame is sharp, and the lens will be better drawn. Aperture is equipped with 7 blades, and the design itself is 15 lens elements in 13 groups. Sharpen can be 45 centimeters. Obviously – the focus will not be as good as the expensive models, the autofocus can be noisy and somewhat inaccurate, but less than 700 zł really worth the glass Tamron AF 18-200 mm f / 3,5-6,3 XR DIII LD Aspherical iF Macro tempted, if only begin the adventure of Macro photography. In a few more gold we can find a model with stabilization. Here are some sample photos taken with the use of glass:
Tamron SP AF 90mm f / 2.8 Di Macro
Available mounts: Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony A / Minolta, Pentax K Tamron SP AF 90mm f / 2.8 Di Macro is cheap – and for many probably – the most interesting alternative to macro lenses with a line Canon or Nikon. 90-millimeter stalk is not by chance is one of the most popular lenses on the market of glasses for close-up photography. The model has gained fans because of the very good value for money. It's perfect as a replacement for more expensive glasses – the more it costs 1600 zł, what in the world the macro is really reasonable price. We get for a lens with a long focal length of 90 mm and a bright f / 2.8, which can sharpen of 29 centimeters, and its field of view is 27 degrees. Optics made of 10 elements arranged in 9 groups allows you to capture images very clear and sharp. Tamron pinned to the camera mount Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony A / Minolta and Pentax K, so there is a choice. Some people complain, however, autofocus – running loud and not as fast as in the more expensive models, but as in the case of macro often come to us to sharpen by hand. Here are some examples that show how the lens is doing in practice:
Sigma 105mm f / 2.8 EX DG Macro
Available mounts: Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony A / Minolta, Sigma, Pentax K Popular Sigma lens for macro is slightly longer than the proposals Tamron, which of course can be an advantage. Although the design is not the newest (lens appeared on the market in 2006), it is still a glass worth attention due to the excellent optics and good price – equipment costs about 200 zł more than Tamron model. Sigma can sharpen of 31 centimeters, and its aperture is equipped with 8 blades, providing a nice blur. The lens construction is 11 elements arranged in 11 groups. Just like Tamron, Sigma is available on virtually all popular attachment, you can also attach to the camera manufacturer. There are newer models, there are also more expensive alternatives, but is it worth it to choose when Sigma still is doing great? Here are some photos as evidence:
Canon EF 100mm f / 2.8 L Macro IS USM
Available mounts: Canon EF for the quality you have to pay. Yes, the original macro model Canon cost more than 3000 zł, but get the glass literally razor-sharp that even take a picture of a grain of sand. Optics Lens is 12 elements in 8 groups, and the clarity of images taken with this lens is impossible to forge. Sharpen we already 28 centimeters, and the autofocus system operates so efficiently that we can confidently entrust focus is to him. The most widely open aperture is f / 2.8 and have the same value, we can count on a very sharp images – many cheaper lenses need tighter lock the aperture to obtain such effects, like here on a full hole. As always with such expensive lenses – you should look for models used. The design is so robust that even a worn out model will serve us for a long time, and on the secondary market often find models for half the price of a new glass. Below are some sample images:
Nikon Nikkor AF-S Micro 105mm f / 2.8G IF-ED VR
Available mounts: Nikon F Nikon also created for its cameras glass expensive but high quality. Sharpness can be set from 31 centimeters, the optical design is up to 14 elements arranged in 14 groups. While the stop 9 is provided with flaps. The lens features a high sharpness and clarity frames and even on a full hole. What is not insignificant, we have available here optical image stabilization, which might be very useful. Autofocus works well, although some complain about some of its speed. Sharpen but we can also manually and focus rings go extremely smoothly, so it will not be a problem. And here we look for used models, which in the secondary market is quite a lot. For dessert, sample some photos:
