While Android 5.0 has already described the L exactly in function smartfonowo-tabletowych, so we did not have the possibility to introduce you to his photographic opportunities. And these, as it turns out, was introduced quite a lot.
More advanced applications on the horizon
First, Google has decided to introduce a new API (Camera 2), with the task to speed up the operation of the entire photographic applications. Moreover, it facilitates developers to prepare more advanced, complex programs – the key to be, among others, wider options for manual intervention in the exposure of which we will say more in a moment.
Support for RAW files
Smartphones based on the new Android will be able to record in RAW format files with the extension open DNG. The standard was originally created by Adobe with the aim to introduce universal solution, independent of the individual manufacturers.DNG also adopted, among others, Leica and Hasselblad, the format is also supported by all popular digital negatives Processing. So we do not have to worry about compatibility with Lightroom, free RawTherapee or other such proposals. Among the currently marketed phones can save DNG files include Nokia Lumia 1020 after a recent update. Now, however, not only on the Windows Phone, but also on Android will have the opportunity. So Google has fulfilled one of the most significant promise for mobile photographers that were submitted in November last year.
Burst mode in a larger amount of models
Camera 2 API also allows for easier use burst mode – if the developer wants to implement such a function, it will be able to do it in a relatively simple manner, without resorting to third-party scripts.
Full, manual exposure control
Android 5.0 also brings much more extensive options for setting the exposure of our photographs. Among the latter, we get at the disposal not only base compensation (from +3 to -3 EV), which now can be found in the vast majority of models, but also:
- modified exposure time in seconds;
- change the ISO sensitivity;
- of manual sharpening;
- lock the exposure or white balance;
- Map of curves;
- Exposure modes;
- and others.
In practice this means that these options are already fixed part of the system – it will therefore need to modify the engine open and placing the system in the following solutions. All are available at the start.
Subsequent changes in compacts with Android?
Both Nikon and Samsung every few months show a further range cameras based on the green robociku. Prime Minister Android 5.0 can change a lot in the world of smart-devices – no doubt it will be interesting to observe not only the actions of another phone manufacturers, but that's more traditional photographic companies.Source: Geeknizer for PetaPixel
